CCTV images released following unprovoked bottle attack in Birmingham
Police release CCTV images after the victim suffered from a severed artery after the nightclub attack
CCTV images have been released by the police, of a man they would like to trace in connection with an unprovoked attack at a nightclub in Birmingham last December, in which a man was left with a severed artery.
The victim, aged 20, was on the dance floor of the Solbar nightclub in the Arcadian Centre, when he was attacked from behind and hit over the head with what was thought to be a glass bottle.
As a result of the unprovoked attack, the victim was left with injuries to his neck and face and needed emergency surgery on a severed artery.
The police are now appealing for help in tracing a man who they believe might be connected to the incident, which happened on Friday, December 30. Three CCTV images of the suspect have now been released by the police, in the hope that someone might be able to help them with their enquiries.
DC Rick Sharp, the investigating officer over the case said: “This attack is wholly unacceptable, the man was enjoying a night out with friends and was on the dance floor when he was subjected to an unprovoked attack.”
The police are urging anyone with information to come forward and if anyone recognises the man from the CCTV images, they are asked to contact Detective Constable Rick Sharp via email: email@example.com, or you can call Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111. The police are asking anyone who calls to quote Crime Reference Number: 20BW/257666N/16
